Charlotte L. Brisker, 96, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Elbrooke Pavilion, Minford, Ohio, after a long illness.

She was born January 9, 1916, in Portsmouth to the late Charles and Lillie (Bender) McLaughlin, Sr. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Brisker, in 1995.

Charlotte was a long-time faithful member of the Sunshine Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Minford High School in 1934. She was an outstanding basketball player and was in the first group inducted into the Minford High School Athletic Wall of Fame in 2006. After graduation from high school she worked at Williams Shoe Factory. She also worked hard on the family dairy farm that she and her husband owned. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and cooking. She was a 4-H advisor for many years. She liked going to the Scioto County Fair and watching her family show Holstein dairy animals.

She is survived by three daughters, Janet (Eugene) Risner, Annie Brisker, Lillie (J.D.) Mullins; two grandchildren, Mark (Autumn) Risner and Melissa (Michael) Boggs; four great grandchildren, Marissa, Matthew, and Maggie Risner, and Nicholas Boggs; and one brother, Robert L. McLaughlin. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Garnett Brisker, and two brothers, Otto and Charles McLaughlin, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Steve Miller, minister, officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. A family burial service will be held at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sunshine Church of Christ building fund or Minford UCAN Scholarship Fund c/o Minford High School.
