Clyde Eldon Shoemaker, 93, of Minford, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009. at Hurley Hospital in Flint, Michigan.
Born March 23, 1915, in Scioto County, Ohio, a son of the late John and Edna Seth Shoemaker, he was retired from GM Motors of Pontiac, Mich., was a 1933 graduate of Minford High School, was a member of Roosevelt Masonic Lodge 510 F&AM in Pontiac, Mich., and was an Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Richard (Dorothy) Shoemaker of Auburn Hills, Mich.; two daughters, Judy (James) Nixon of Davis burg, Mich., Debra (Joseph) Burchett of Pinckney, Mich.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Harold Shoemaker of Belleview, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura E. Hamilton Shoemaker on Oct. 3, 2003; one grandson, Edward Shoemaker; one brother, Raymond Shoemaker; and two half sisters, Emma Powell and Ethel Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour before the service on Saturday. Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home by Lucasville Masonic Lodge 465. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion.
