Gene Bennett Lindsey, age 80, of Circleville, died Wednesday, February 25, 1998 in Berger Hospital.
Born February 3, 1918 in Swager Valley, Oh., son of the late John Brett and Anna Oletha Parks Lindsey.
Mr. Lindsey was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, BPOE 77, Masonic Temple Shrine, IOOF, Ohio Bakers Association and Retail Bakers Association.
Mr. Lindsey was the retired owner and operator of Lindsey's Bake Shop and Doughnut Shop in Circleville for many years.
He is survived by wife, Martha (Like) Lindsey; children, Anna (John) McConnell of Grapeland, Tex., Ernest (Pat) Lindsey of Columbus, Katie (George) Miller of Circleville and Connie (Terry) Campbell of Circleville; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by grandson Gregory Lindsey, daughter-in-law Shirley Dawson Lindsey, sister Mary Elizabeth and brother Karl.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the MADER-PETERS FUNERAL HOME, Circleville with Rev. Don Bachman and Dr. John Mittermaier officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice of Pickaway County.
