Abraham Lincoln Rickey was born on March 27, 1871.  He died on December 5, 1949

Abraham Lincoln "Link" Rickey, 78, died at his home on Lucasville Rt. 4 at 2:40 p.m. Monday.  He had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in October 1948 and had been ill since that time.

Mr. Rickey was a life-long resident of Madison Township.  He was born March 27, 1871 a son of Isaac and Mary Kirchner Rickey.  He was a farmer and operated a general store in Minford.  A few years ago he returned to farming.

He was married to Dora Kent who passed away in April 1932.  Later he was married to Mrs. Nellie Snyder, who survives.  He is survived by four step-children, Mrs. Dorothy Lewis, Mrs. Alice Poole, Mrs. Minnie McKinney, and Jennings Coburn; a brother, Oliver and two sisters, Mrs. Gustave Smith and Mrs. Edna Nelson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Madison Missionary Baptist Church of which Mr. Rickey was a member.  Revs. U. S. Pinson and Perry Alexander will officiate.

Burial will follow in Martin Cemetery, near the church under the direction of Davis-Hamnerstein Funeral Home.  The body is at the residence and may be viewed until the funeral hour.
