In the 1960's, it was known as Bennett's Texaco.  In the 1970's it was Bennett's Union 76.  In the 1980 & 1990's, it was Bennett's Rich Oil. 
 

JOE E. BENNETT

MINFORD-Joe E. Bennett, 81, of Minford passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

He was born December 29, 1936 in Minford, a son of the late Ormund S. and Anna Mae (Rickey) Bennett.

Joe was a pillar of the Minford community, and an avid sports fan of the Minford Falcons and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and faithful Christian. Everyone who knew Joe had been blessed by his servant's heart. He never met a stranger.

Joe was owner and operator of Bennett's Service Station for 38 years, president of Minford Telephone Company, former Harrison Township Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent for many years at the Minford United Methodist Church, and attended Temple Baptist Church.

Joe was blessed to have been married to his wife, Loretta Bennett for 61 years. They had five children, Suzanne (Ron) Duelley of Minford, Lisa (Rick) Heintzelman of Ligonier, IN, Julie (Mark) Price of Minford, Lori (Tom) Bennington of Wheelersburg, Michael (Julia) Bennett of Minford; ten grandchildren, Lesley, Lindsay, Shane, Blake, Derek, Allison, Evan, Kara, Grace, Madelyn, and ten great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Bryce, Landen, Bennett, Breelynn, Lochlan, Harrison, Ahri, Elise, and Emerson.

He is also survived by a brother, Jerry "Pat" (Annette) Bennett of Minford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, John Bennett in infancy, Donald Bennett, Bernard Bennett, Wendall Bennett, Harold Bennett, Fred Bennett, Larry Bennett, and three sisters, Dorothy White, Northa Bennett, Aileen Callihan.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Dwight Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
