The Portsmouth Times,  June 30, 1935 - Slot Machines Stolen; Minford Lunch Room Raided While Proprietor Sleeps Soundly
Everett Snyder, lunch room proprietor and wife of Minford sleep soundly.

Two prowlers Friday night entered the Minford place of business while Mr. and Mrs. Snyder were sleeping in the rear of the room and escaped with two slot machines containing considerable change.

Snyder awoke in time to see the men depart in a machine.  Entrance was gained by ripping off a screen and unlocking a door from the inside. 

The Portsmouth Times - September 21, 1938 - Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland Coriell & Mr. and Mrs. Luther Sieling moved from Portsmouth to Minford where they have taken charge of the Betty Lee lunch room. 

The Portsmouth Daily Times - January 16, 1941 - Dances every Friday night at the Betty Lee.

The Portsmouth Times, January 5, 1955 - Kessinger to Launch New Store In Minford

H. F. Kessinger will open a 5 and 10 cent store in Minford Saturday.  He has moved the business he formerly operated on Market Street in Portsmouth to the Minford building that formerly was the Betty Lee restaurant.  In addition to his other items, Mr. Kessinger plans to stock women's and children's wear and operate infants' and gift departments.
