Dennis James Meade “Doc”, 63, of Minford, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at SOMC Hospice.
Born May 31, 1951, in Portsmouth, son of Alvin Meade of Minford and the late Oretta Chaffins Meade, he retired from Minford Local Schools in 2008, after 35 years, he served as Principal 3 years and then Superintendent.
He was also a member of Minford Lions Club.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Diana Scott Meade; one daughter, Shawn Jordan of Wheelersburg; one son, Randolph (Carrie) Meade of Portsmouth; five grandchildren, Auston Oretta Jordan, Zachary Tracz Jordan, Lane Robert Jordan, Lily Rose Meade and Xavier Edison Meade, and one brother, Barry Meade of Waverly.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Mark Bales officiating. Burial will be at Salisbury Cemetery near Stockdale. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
