Lorain McRoberts, 91, of Minford, died Monday, September 5, 2011 in the emergency room at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.

Born October 10, 1919 in Pike County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Rev. Martin L. and Stella Cecil (Lyons) Blakeman, she was a matron for the Minford Local School District, retiring with 14 years of service.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Cheryl McRoberts of Wheelersburg, Myron and Roseanna McRoberts of Lucasville; five grandchildren, Michael (Kimberly) McRoberts, David McRoberts, Randy (Cathy) McRoberts, Bryan McRoberts, Marsha (Mark) Anglemeyer; six great grandchildren, Cody McRoberts, Kristin McRoberts, Justin McRoberts, Alaina McRoberts, Ashley McRoberts, Michaela McRoberts; four nephews and two nieces.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger McRoberts, on November 8, 1995, whom she married on November 12, 1941 in Greenup, Kentucky; a son, Roger Randall McRoberts, on August 9, 2003, a grandson, Darren Alan McRoberts, and two sisters, Marie Seibert and Thelma Sparks.
