Dennis Massey, manager of Gravely Tractor Sales Company has moved the business from 921 Chillicothe Street in Portsmouth to a location one mile from Minford on State Route 335.

MASSEY'S LAWN EQUIPMENT IS GARDEN CENTER
 
Massey's Lawn and Garden Equipment Company is an established name in the Minford area in having provided sales and service of outdoor power equipment for many years.
 
The firm is owned and managed by Dennis E. Massey.  He is assisted by his son, Dennis Jr. and Leonard L. Powell.  The company has three full-time and two part-time employees.
 
The company was started in 1953 and is now in its 18th year of operation at the same location.
 
Massey's provides sales and service of eqiupment for lawn, garden, field and farm and holds the franchises for Gravely Tractors and 39 attachments and for Allis- Chalmers outdoor power equipment.
 
A gold set to be reached in 1973 was fulfilled by the company in 1970.  Expansion space and business is slated for later this year. 
 
 
Dennis Eugene Massey, age 85, of Okeechobee, died Sunday, September 1, 2002, at Raulerson Hospital.
 
Mr. Massey was born on July 18, 1917, in Poca, W. Va., to Thomas Earl and Lily Blanch Painter Massey. Mr. Massey, formerly of Minford, Ohio, had been a resident of Okeechobee since 1985, after retiring as owner/operator of Massey-Gravely Company.
 
Mr. Massey grew up and attended schools in Poca, W. Va. He was a 50 Plus Year Member and Royal Arch Masonry, as well as a member of the Knight Templar and Beni Kedim Shrine. Mr. Massey was a past president of the Minfords Lions Club and Past Director of the Minford Phone Company and Minford Banking Center in Minford, Ohio. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Okeechobee. 

Survivors include: his loving wife of over 63 years, Orba Shelton Massey of Okeechobee; one son, Dennis Massey, Jr. of Minford, Ohio; two daughters, Judith Massey of Okeechobee and Peggy (Tom) Baker of Huntington, W. Va.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren also survive him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 10 until 11 a.m., after which funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., at the Buxton Funeral Home, with Reverend Fred Gardner, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
