Patricia "Patty" Turner Bond
October 3, 1936 - January 17, 2021

PORTSMOUTH-Patricia (Patty) Bond, 84, of Portsmouth, Ohio died on Sunday, January 17, 2021 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana surrounded by her family.

Patty was born on October 3, 1936 in New Boston Ohio to Louise Wintersole Turner and William Turner. A proud graduate of Glenwood High School in the Class of 1954, Patty went on to graduate from Ohio University with a B.S. degree in elementary education. She went on to spend her teaching career as a fourth-grade teacher at Minford Middle School where she touched the lives of many students.

Patty was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Married to Charles Allen Bond on January 28, 1956, she was the mother of Dr. Karen (Steven) Bond Alferi, Glenna Dianne (Theodore) Volz, and Charles Allen Bond, II. Grandmother to Jennifer (Chad) Stover, Andrew Overfield, Dr. Elizabeth Louanne (David) Bergman, Jacquelene (Lekh) Bond Shaw, and Dr. Cody (Leann) Bond and great-grandmother to Maryn Elise Maloon, Jack Creighton Maloon, Creighton Anthony Bergman, Charlise Jameson Patrice Bond, Grace Marie Bond, and Katherine Nichole Bond. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Edward (Addie Belle) Thomas Wintersole, mother Louise Semones, stepfather Harold Semones, and her brothers William Joseph Turner and William Louis Semones.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Charles A. Bond Scholarship Fund through the Scioto Foundation by mail at 303 Chillicothe Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662 .

The 2021 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior at Glenwood High School who will be attending Patty's alma mater, Ohio University. No funeral will be held as requested.
