Blaine L. Powell, 62, of Minford, died at 1:15 a.m. today at Scioto Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for five days.  He had been in failing health for about five years.

A native of Scioto County, he once operated a general store in Minford with Floyd Powell.  From 1938 to 1964 he owned a greenhouse in Minford.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edith Kuhns Powell; a brother, Ray of Minford Rt. 1, and four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Canter, Mrs. Thelma Rockwell, Mrs. Wilma DeAtley and Mrs. Velva Moore all of Minford.

Services are to be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Erwin-Dodson Funeral Home, with Julius Chandler officiating.  Burial is to be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

MINFORD GREENHOUSE

Dale Cunningham has opened a new greenhouse in Minford.  The firm is called Minford Greenhouse, and it offers a full line of flowers, vegetables, plants, trees and shrubs.

Cunningham is being assisted by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cunningham.

The greenhouse is located on Back Street near the Portsmouth Bank.  It is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
