Sibby M. Wright Runyon, 84, Anderson, Ind., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 1, 2008.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1924, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of Albert and Rissie Curtis Wright. Sibby married James V. Runyon on Nov. 2, 1941. She had worked in Ohio as head cook for Swauger Valley Grade School and retired from Home Health Care Services after eight years. She moved to Anderson in 1980 and was a member of the Cross Roads United Methodist Church.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and was known for her flowers and being a wonderful cook.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Stapleton and Vicki (husband Charles) Hurt, both of Anderson; grandchildren, Michael (Sandy) Stapleton, Marty (Lisa) Stapleton, Melissa (Jon) Davis, Anthony (Sloan) Hurt, Jason (Cheryl) Hurt, Blaine (Ginger) Hurt; great-grandchildren, Michael and Martin Stapleton, Matthew Stapleton, Erin Davis, Ryan and Brittney Davis, Jacey Hurt, Abby and Erica Hurt, Colton Hurt, Kristi, Thomas and Kassi Ogle; great-great-grandchildren, Tanyia, Sevion, Kyra, Joey and Nickalous; one sister, Ruby (husband Bob) Corriell of Minford, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Anna Mae Runyon of Portsmouth, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and her very special friend, Mary Emma Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and three sisters.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz Diedring Funeral Home, 515 East 53rd St., Anderson, with the Rev. John Hackney officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
