Violet Kathleen Owens, nee Wells, 83, of Caseyville, Ill., born Feb. 22, 1922, in New Boston, Ohio, died Thursday, July 21, 2005, at her home.

Mrs. Owens attended the Caseyville United Methodist Church, Caseyville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Esta, nee Kallner, Wells; and two brothers, Jack and Issac Wells.

Surviving are her husband, Marion Francis Owens of Caseyville, Ill.; a son, Jack (Donna) Owens of Harvester, Mo.; a daughter, Deborah (Mark) Blackburn of Fairview Heights, Ill.; two sisters and a brother, Velda Pfleger of Minford, Ohio, Clarence Wells of Minford, Ohio, and Etta Skaggs of Wheelersburg, Ohio; four grandchildren, Michael (Lacey) Blackburn of Maryville, Ill., Jonathan (Jannett) Owens of St. Charles, Mo., Jeffrey Owens of O'Fallon, Mo., and Jennifer (Brian) Hickman of Wentzville, Mo.; and seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan, Justin, Jackie, Ethan, Amandalynn and Ashley.

Memorials may be made to Caseyville Volunteer Fire Department.

Funeral: Private services were held.
