Boyer is Rehired At Minford

William Boyer was rehired as superintendent of the Minford Local School District and Jesse Veach was sworn in as a new member of the Minford Local Board of Education during a regular meeting of the board Monday.

Boyer was granted a three-year contract.  Veach is to serve the remaining term of the former board member William Sims, who resigned.  Veach is to serve two years.

In other action, the board hired James Rhea as a home instruction teacher for the remainder of the 1975 - 1976 school year.  Sharon Smith and Bill Whittaker were hired as substitute teachers.

The school's free lunch policy statement was amended to offer free and reduced price lunches and free milk to comply with the mandated reduced price meal service.  Reduced price lunches are to cost 20 cents.

A bid of $305 was accepted from Deana McLaughlin for a 1968 school car and a bid of $12,50 was accepted from Clearence Valley Sons, Inc., for a 1964 school bus.

The board rejected bids of $50 for a 1966 and 1967 automobiles and asked for new bids. 

The board granted permission for Gwendolyn Skaggs and Loretta Reed to attend a meeting in Columbus, February 22 & 23.  June Starrett and Carol Lehman were granted permission to attend a meeting in Columbus, Thursday through Saturday.  Boyer was granted permission to attend a superintendent's meeting Progress Report in Athens, Thursday and Friday.

The board accepted a bus insurance bid from Buckeye Union Insurance Company through Riffe and Bennett Insurance at a cost of $3,184.

Boyer, Wells Peach and Carl Keller were appointed to serve on the negotiation team for the board.  Veach was appointed as an alternate.

Daniel Kuhner and Harold Allen were selected principal advisers representing the high school and elementary schools.
