Mrs. Roscoe Milam of Lucasville has received work of the death of her aunt, Mrs. J. E. Smart of Mitchell, South Dakota, who passed away in that city on July 15,

 

Mrs. Smart fell and suffered a broken hip July 8 and the injury is said to have resulted in her death a week later.

 

Mrs. Smart was born in Scioto County on July 18, 1854, and was a daughter of Thomas Jenkins and Margaret Boiler Bennett.  Her parents, husband, two children and all of her brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

 

She is survived by four children, Thomas of Washington, DC, Mrs. Geneva Darmer of Danbury, Wisconsin, Mrs. Ethel Weiland of Sioux City, Iowa, and Noah Leslie of Mitchell, South Dakota.  She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews in Scioto County.

 

Funeral services and burial were held at Mitchell.
