Arthur Edward Staten
June 1, 1934 - February 26, 2007

STATEN, Arthur Edward (Ed) age 72 of Springboro, passed away Monday February 26, 2007.

Ed was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, June 1, 1934 and spent most of his life in the Portsmouth area and at the Children's Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio until he went into the military in 1951.

Ed served 21 years in the military retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1973, retired employee of DESC and part time employee at the Holiday Inn (Englewood) and an active member of the Centerville Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ralph Staten and Norma Lee Francisco Staten; brothers, Joseph Lee, Ralph N. and Donald; sisters, Barbara Jane Birdwell and Opal Stetzinger; half sisters, Carolyn Holland and Joanne Dennis.

Survived by is beloved wife of 50 years, E. Jeanne (Ellsworth); daughter and son-in-law, Valerie Jeanne and Eric Kesler; son and daughter-in-law, Mark Edward and Lisa Staten; grandchildren, Amanda Valeen Owens and husband, William, James Craig Pennington, Claire Elizabeth, Lucas Wells and Logan Ellsworth Staten, Kody Michael Kesler; sisters, Marian Johnson and Marjorie Staten; sister-in-law, Sue Staten; step-brother and wife, Charles and Faye Pennington; half brothers and spouses, Bobby Joe and Emily Staten, Jimmy and Melba Staten and Johnnie and Cindy Staten; half sisters and spouses, Violet and David Freeman, Myra and Randy Phillips and Patsy and Ronnie Baker.

Funeral service 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the George C. Martin Funeral Home "North Dayton Chapel" 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Mr. J.D. Cash, minister officiating. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 P.M. Wednesday at the George C. Martin Funeral Home.
