Interquest Dogs Visit

Our drug-deterrent program, Interquest, visited the schools.  The results were very positive with no controlled substances such as crack, pot, alcohol, etc. found at the high school or middle school.  Interquest personnel indicated that they felt that Minford students listened when they were here earlier to discuss the program and that it was surprising to not uncover any of the above mentioned articles.  Interquest is part of our ongoing efforts to deter and to educate our children about the possession and use of illegal drugs.  Dr. Randall Schlegel's program for drug-free, safe schools adds to these efforts along with the D.A.R.E. program and the efforts of our Minford Drug Awareness Group that is working on more awareness activities for parents and the community.  The popular phrase, "It takes a village to raise a child" certainly applies to all of the programs and activities we have.

Insurance Update

The Scioto County Health Plan Council of Governments has voted to not take a premimum increase for this quarter.  Reserve funds to pay claims are continuing to increase and claims have remained stable.  The trends are around 11% overall except in those areas that have been hit hard by rising costs and claims.
