Carl Norman Eckhart
January 5, 1937 - August 16, 2007 

Carl Norman Eckhart, 70, of Lucasville, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.


Born Jan. 5, 1937, in Scioto County, a son of the late Marvin and Gayle Hadaway Eckhart, he was an assistant vice president for National City Bank in Portsmouth, retiring with 42 years of service, and attended Rubyville Community Church.

He was an Air Force veteran, a graduate of  Minford High School in the class of 1954, worked for Kirby's Flowers in Portsmouth, was a member of Scioto Antique Car Club and the Performance Ford Car Club.  

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Chandler Eckhart, whom he married Feb. 24, 1956; one brother and sister-in- law, Richard and Connie Eckhart, of Wheelersburg; brother-in-law, Robert Chandler, of Portsmouth; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and David Harness, of Lucasville; and several nieces and nephews. 


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Eckhart.  

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at Rubyville Community Church in Rubyville with Evangelist Brian Baer officiating.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, and at the church one hour before the services Monday.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion.
