Carolyn Kay Martin Murray, 66, of Chillicothe, a former Minford area resident, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe.

 

Born March 11, 1943, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Carl E. and Garnet Bentley Martin, she was a housewife and attended Valley Chapel Church and Christian Life Church of Minford.

 

She is survived by one son, Roger Murray Jr. of Chillicothe; two daughters, Kandi Zaman of Ransom, Ky., and Melissa Marie Murray of Chillicothe; two grandchildren, Lindsay Cooper of Well-ston and Amanda Zaman of Ransom, Ky.; two great-grandchildren, Noah Light and Elijah Cooper, both of Wellston; two brothers, Tom (Jan) Martin of Lucasville and Danny (Donna) Martin of Minford; two sisters, Helen Mead of Minford and Sharon (Gene) Cretsinger of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Murray on Jan. 21, 2008, whom she married Sept. 26, 1961.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Bernie Twinam officiating. Burial will be at Harrison Furnace Cemetery near Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
