Charles Minford McCain, 84, of Minford, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Pleasant Hill Convalescent Center in Piketon.

 

Born March 10, 1924, in Madison Township, Scioto County, he was a son of the late Charles M. and Dianna M. Lyons McCain.  He was a former employee for Williams Shoe Manufacturing in Portsmouth and N & W and C & O Railroads.  He was a member of Portland Masonic Lodge No. 366 in Oak Hill, Ohio, and was a 32nd degree Mason with the Valley of Columbus Scottish Rites. 

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold McCain and Arthur "Tidd" McCain; and three sisters, Amy Hickman, Amma Culp and Mildred McCain in childhood. 

 

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor Timothy Palla officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service Tuesday.
