Deceased Name:  Charles Muck

Charles Edward Muck, 75, of Milton, Ky., died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Signature Healthcare Center of Trimble County in Bedford, Ky.

He was born April 29, 1935, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of John Henry and Thelma June Allen Muck. He was the oldest of 17 children.
 
He served in both the Navy and the Army, stationed in Japan during the Korean War.
 
He was an employee of Highway Oil for several years.
 
He volunteered with Milton Emergency Services as dispatcher for the Fire and Rescue as well as EMS. He served with the Milton Fire Department for over 30 years, and was the secretary and treasurer.
 
He held the position of Milton city clerk for several years.
 
He was also a 4-H leader, band booster and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Culver Muck, whom he married April 30, 1960; one son, Paul Damon Muck; two daughters, Joy Dawn Mack and Christi Lynn Nuxoll-Hill; five brothers, Robert Dale Muck, William "Bill" Frank Muck, Danny Leroy Muck, Gary Alan Muck and Mike E. Muck; three sisters, Fern Muck Haven, Judy Darlene Muck Welsh and Latricia "Tish" Ruth Muck; three grandsons; four granddaughters; two great-grandsons; one nephew; many nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, John Burley and Ollie Belle Bailey Muck, and George Washington and Besty Nora Gaines Allen; and eight brothers, John Lwellyn Muck, Howard Eugene Muck, Jack E. Muck, Herbert David Muck, Donald "Butch" Douglas Muck, Eddy Arnold Muck, Gregory Ellsworth Muck and Dwight "Ike" Winston Muck.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Milton Baptist Church in Milton, Ky. Burial will be in Moffett Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted graveside.

Friends may call at the church Wednesday after 5 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Salvation Army. Contribution cards will be available at the church.
