The family of Delores Jean Snyder Etterling has entrusted the SWICK-BUSSA-CHAMBERLIN Funeral Home, 11901 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, with her funeral arrangements. The funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2012, at the Funeral Home with Bryan White officiating, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Mrs. Etterling, 81, of Wheelersburg, left this world on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, to be reunited with her husband of 61 years, Carl L. Etterling, who passed away Aug. 18, 2010. "Dodie", as her friends called her, was born Feb. 22, 1931, and graduated from Minford High School.
She was the daughter of Blanche and John Snyder, who preceded her in death. Others preceding her were a brother, Jerry Wayne Mosley. Delores was the mother of four children, Karen (Dan) Stevens, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; Denise (Brian) Snyder, of Wheelersburg; Carla Clement, of Illinois; and Brian (Rhonda) Etterling, of Canal Winchester, Ohio.
Delores, better known as "Nannie" to her eight grandchildren, are Scott (Tiffany) Stevens, Smyrna, Tenn; Mike (Jeanie) Stevens, of Illinois; Chris (Greta) White, of Wheelersburg; Josh (Carrie) Hartley, of Illinois; Lee (Nicki) Etterling, of Columbus; Chad Etterling, of Columbus; Caitlyn Etterling, of Columbus and Nannie also had eight great-grandsons and five great-granddaughters, and one great-great granddaughter.
Following Carl's death, Delores lived with and was cared for by her daughter Denise, son in law Brian Snyder, and a very special person, Debbie Madacsi. Delores will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
