DEWEY E. CORDLE
June 25, 1951 - August 21, 2015

MINFORD — Dewey Edward Cordle, 64, of Minford, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at SOMC Hospital. He was born June 25, 1951, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Selca E. Cordle, Sr. and Susie Ross Cordle. He was a graduate of Minford High School in 1970 and spent his life farming dairy and beef cattle on the land he grew up on and called home. The farm brought many joys to his life, providing for his family and the love of his life for 45 years, Carolyn Smith Cordle. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and his grandchildren brought him joy and laughter and always kept a smile on his face.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smith Cordle; one son, Dewey (Kristi) Cordle, II of Minford; two daughters, Tracy Cordle of Minford and Diane (Ross) Wagner of Piketon; seven grandchildren, Eli, Adam, Ethan, Corey, Cortney, Taylor and Riley; five brothers, William (Helen) Cordle, Jack Cordle, John (Joy) Cordle, Lacie (Pat) Cordle and Floyd (Donna) Cordle; three sisters, Janet (Mervin) Comer, Linda James and Mary (Richard) Reffitt, and sisters & brothers-in-law, Adrian (Linda) Finch and Roy (Debra) Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Selca E. Cordle, Jr., Norman Cordle and Paul Cordle, and one sister, Minerva Cordle.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Jack Northup officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford.
