PAUL R. "DICK" ECKHART
June 14, 1931 - May 10, 2016

PORTSMOUTH - Paul Richard "Dick" Eckhart, 84, of Portsmouth, a former Minford and Sciotoville resident, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Hillview Retirement Center. Born June 14, 1931 in Scioto County, a son of the late Marvin and Gayle Hadaway Eckhart, he was retired from New Boston Coke Plant, he was co-owner/operator of Dick's Pizza in Sciotoville for 15 years, a member of American Legion, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He is survived by one daughter Sandy (Robert) Odell of Wheelersburg; two sons, Brian (Angela) Eckhart of Aiken, SC and Bradley Eckhart of New York, NY; nine grandchildren, Konard (Tina) Modschiedler, Ryan Evans, Eric Evans, Amy (Jeff) Ratcliff, Alissa McManus, Alexx (Daniel) Kitchings, Niki Eckhart, Levi (Angela) Odell, and Lindsay Odell; twenty great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Constance "Connie" Alice Gervais Eckhart on October 31, 2014; two brothers, Eugene Eckhart and Carl Eckhart, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Eckhart.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace with Jason Coriell officiating. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A. Baker Post No. 363. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to SOMC Hospice Caritas Fund or the Minford Athletic Boosters.
