Retail store coming to Minford
A new Dollar General is coming to Minford.
The takeaway from Thursday’s meeting of the Scioto County Commissioners was that more property development is underway within the county and some are more welcomed than others.
Commissioners stated that three items from the agenda, a
memorandum of understanding between the Scioto County Board of Commissioners
and Harrison Board of Trustees, a Quitclaim deed between the same entities, and
a resolution for the transfer of property were all in reference to the
establishment of a Dollar General retail location in Minford.
Commissioner Bryan Davis stated a sliver of land adjacent to
Bennett Cemetery on St. Rt. 335 in Minford has been acquired for development
with a portion of the land being previously utilized by CSX for railroad
access.
“Harrison Township worked with us to get all of this in the hands of the Harrison Twp. Trustees so they could work with the developer to bring more development to Minford,” said Davis.
Scioto County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Michelle Parker
also stated that along with the development, a right of way will be established
granting access to Bennett Cemetery.
