DOROTHY BENNETT WILLIAMS

Dorothy Helen (Bennett) Williams, 86, of Minford, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.
Born September 19, 1928 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late William T. and Stately June (Clark) Bennett, she was a 1946 graduate of Minford High School, a former member of Black Potters Family Campers & RVs, and member of the James Irwin Post #622 Ladies Auxiliary.
Dorothy worked for the Ohio Consolidated Telephone Company in Portsmouth, as well as the Carolina Lumber Company in Portsmouth. Along with her husband and son, she owned and operated Quality Equipment in Portsmouth.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Marty and Marcha Williams; two grandchildren, Mindy S. Montgomery of New Boston, Andrew T. Williams of Minford; one great-grandchild, Regan Diane Montgomery; one brother, Thomas W. Bennett of Lucasville; a nephew, Albert (Barbara) Tucker of Portsmouth; a brother-in-law, Ray Murphy of Williamson, WV; and a great niece, Tiffany Tucker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lafe C. Williams, on July 17, 2002, whom she married on October 13, 1951; a grandson-in-law, David Montgomery; a sister, Anna Mae Tucker; and a brother, Kermit Bennett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Moore officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. There will be a James Irwin Post #622 Ladies Auxiliary Service Monday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
