Dorothy Lucille Meyers Willis, 87, of Sciotoville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at Hempstead Manor in Portsmouth.

 

She was born May 26, 1924, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Weeks Meyers. Dorothy graduated from Minford High School in 1941. She retired after more than 45 years as a Teacher. Dorothy was a Christian and of the Nazarene faith. She loved her Lord and served Him faithfully. She loved helping and giving to others.

 

Dorothy is survived by a brother, Frank Lee Meyers of Portsmouth; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Willis whom she married on July 23, 1946, in Portsmouth; two brothers, Louis Meyers Jr. and Walter Meyers; and two sisters, Inez Bowen and Samantha Henderson.

 

Services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Don Noel officiating. Burial will be at Scioto Burial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 5 until 7 pm at D.W. Swick in New Boston. dwswickfuneralhome.com.
