STEIGER Dorothy J. Steiger, 78, of Pickerington, died Friday, September 30, 2005 at Mt. Carmel West.

 

She was born June 4, 1927 in Minford, Ohio the daughter of the late Ernest and Hester (Pratt) Pinson.

 

Dorothy was a member of the Violet Grange, Melrose Rebekah Lodge #571 and was the Rebekah Lodge District 16 Deputy President. She was a very active leader and fundraiser in many Pickerington area community and civic organizations. She was instrumental in raising "The Protector" statue at the police station, moving the covered bridge to Sycamore Park, and creating the Mitten Tree Project.

 

Survivors include her sons, Bernard (Donna) Steiger and Larry "Dean" (Storm) Steiger; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister; four brothers; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Preceded in death by her husband Clarence Park Steiger in 1992, one sister and one brother.
