Eldon Lowell Deemer, 55, of the Clarktown community on Minford Rt. 2, died at 5:45 a.m. today at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
 
He had undergone surgery last Thursday at Scioto Memorial Hospital and was moved to the Columbus hospital Monday.
 
Born in Madison Township April 28, 1908, he was a son of Evan and Maria Lyons Deemer.
 
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lorraine Slavens Deemer; a son, Roy, 1310 Center Street; a daughter, Mrs. Inez McCormick of Bluefield, WV; a brother, Alton of Minford Rt. 1, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Cole of Minford Rt. 2.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents.
 
He was employed as an inspector in the rod and wire mill of the local steel plant.  He was a member of the Long Run Freewill Baptist church and the Lucasville Masonic Lodge, Mount Vernon Chapter, Calvary Commandery, Solomon Council, Sottish Rite and Eastern Star.
 
Funeral services are to be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Long Run Freewill Baptist Church, with Revs. G. Forrest Chamberlin and Franklyn Harness officiating.  Burial is to be in Bailey Cemetery under direction of Erwin-Dodson Funeral Home.  Masonic services are to be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
 
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday, and at the church an hour prior to the service.
