Emerson Ray Coriell, 51, of State Route 335, Portsmouth, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, in Columbus.
Born April 5, 1957, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of Marie Nourse Mower of Portsmouth and the late Ira Coriell, he was a purchasing agent for Mechanical Construction Company in Portsmouth.
He was a member and former deacon of Sunshine Church of Christ in Minford, a graduate of Clark Technical College in Springfield, and a graduate of Minford High School in the Class of 1975, and he had coached Minford Little League and had assisted with Minford High School Baseball.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Cason Coriell, whom he married Nov. 5, 1977; one son, Mark and daughter-in-law, Megan Coriell of Norwalk, Ohio; two brothers, Ira Coriell and Henry Coriell, both of Portsmouth; and one sister, Jessie Glass of Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at Sunshine Church of Christ, with Steve Miller and Jamie Riley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family's favorite charity St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
