Eric Glenn "Hawk" Ruby, 24, of Minford, passed away to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.

 

Eric was 24 years old and a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1999.  Eric was a student at Ashland Community College pursuing a career in the nursing field.  He also worked at Pap's Carryout in New Boston.

 

To know Eric was to love his sly smile, quick wit and mellow charm.  He would warm your soul and melt your heart.

 

Eric loved NASCAR, baseball, football, and fishing.  He was of the Protestant faith.

 

He is survived by one son, Lathan Christopher Ruby, whose mother is Rachel Turner; his father, Thomas Ruby and fiancée, Joyce Wadsworth; his mother, Cathy Ruby and companion, Craig Truitt; one brother, Shad and Melodee Ruby and their twin sons, Brady Thomas and Carson Wayne Ruby; Eric's companion, Angie Lockhart and her two children, Christian and Kaleigh; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

 

Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents; Johnie and Helen Ruby; James and Tharlene Conklin; by his first cousin, Jacklyn Sue Ruby Brown; and good friend and cousin, Tommy Barber.

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2006 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with the Rev. Harold Cox and Brother Roy R. Chaffin officiating.  Burial will be in Squire Cemetery near Minford.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 11 a.m. on Monday.
