Evelyn F. Bennett, 86, of Del Rio, Texas, a former Minford resident, died Friday, November 26, 2010 at her son’s residence in Del Rio.

Born September 30, 1924 in Sciotoville, a daughter of the late Charles Allen and Stella (Williams) Fisher, she was a homemaker and had worked as a clerk for Gahm’s and Shopwise Markets in Minford, and attended Minford Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald K. and Maria Bennett of Del Rio, Texas, Jerry L. and Debi Bennett of Grove City, Ohio, Timothy A. and Susan Bennett of Minford, Ohio, Neal R. and Dinah Bennett of Dillingham, Alaska, Brian D. and Anne Bennett of Maumee, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Avanelle Willis of Wasilla, Alaska. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel R. Bennett on October 11, 2008, whom she married on October 27, 1945 in Minford; a grandson, Ryan Bennett; three brothers, Larry Keith Fisher, Harold Fisher, Charles E. Fisher, and two sisters, Edith Powell and Connie Colley.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Minford Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Tim Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
