Frances A. Cunningham, 85, of Portsmouth, died Monday, April 5, 2010, at SOMC Hospice.

A native of Portsmouth, she was born May 22, 1924, to the late Raymond and Emma Toland Adkins.

She was former bookkeeper for Walter J. Cunningham, Contractor, and also for the former Harbison Walker Refractories Company.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Cunningham, on Sept. 28, 1999; and two sisters, Dorothy Adkins, and Donna Widdig.

She is survived by two sons, Steven Cunningham of Portsmouth, and Mark (Cheryl) Cunningham of Circleville; one grandson, Adam Cunningham; two brothers, Raymond Adkins of Lorain, and James Adkins of Minford; three sisters, Norma Whitley of Lamont, Ill., Doris (Ralph) Ramey of Kettering, and Joan Dill of Lucasville; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth, with the Rev. Evan Fisher officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Daehlers.
