Frank L. Meyers, 83, of Portsmouth went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Stein Hospice Center Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio.

 

He was born in Scioto County on Sept. 4, 1929, to the late Lewis H. and Mary Olive (Mayme) Weeks Meyers.

 

Frank was of the Nazarene Faith, a 1948 graduate of Minford High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service he was employed by the N&W Railroad where he retired with more than 30 years of service.

 

Surviving are many nieces and nephews.

 

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis Henry Meyers Jr. and Walter Meyers; three sisters, Dorothy Willis, Inez Bowen and Samantha Henderson and one great niece, Jennifer Meyers.

 

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Don Noel, Minister officiating.

 

Interment will be at Scioto Burial Park with military graveside honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and Sat. 10 to 11 a.m. at D.W. SWICK IN NEW BOSTON.
