Farmer-Trucker Geoffrey Dean Brisker, 49, of Wheeler's Mill Road, Minford, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, while working on his farm.

Geoff grew up on the very farm he died on, and near the same spot his father Hughferd died in 1988 of a tractor accident.

He was born March 7, 1959, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Hattie Jane O'Neill Brisker of Minford and the late Hughferd C. Brisker. He was a truck driver for Smith Transport, a 1977 graduate of Minford High School and a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church.

 In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Connie Coriell Brisker; one son, Hugh Brisker of Minford; one step-daughter, Tracy (Frank) Grasso of Minford; one stepson, Tommy (Angie) Mullins of Prestonsburg, Ky.; two brothers, Fred Brisker of Minford, and Alan (Sandy) Brisker of Minford; one sister, Marsha (Tony) McGinnis of Minford; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Cindy Brisker.

 He loved to watch his son, Hugh, play basketball for the Minford Falcons, where Geoff was a star football player in the 1970s.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church in Wheelersburg, with Father Matt Hoover officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Wheelersburg. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

 The family wishes to thank all who helped in the rescue attempt, including Richard Colley, The Minford Rescue Squad and the staff at SOMC emergency room.
