Jack F. Canary, 67, died December 19, 2000, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Canary was born in Portsmouth, Ohio and has resided in the Akron area for over 40 years. He retired from B&O/CSX Railroad with over 32 years service.

Preceded in death by stepson, John F. Mazur, he is survived by wife, Hazel; sons, Don and Ron of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Jon Mazur of Akron and Kristin Canary of Suffield. Mr. Canary will be remembered for his dedication and thoughtfulness by his family and friends. He spent his retired years working in his garden and tending to his roses and lawn.

Funeral service Saturday, 10 a.m. at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312 with Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, 7 to 9 p.m.
