James David McKenzie, 65, of Minford,
died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at his residence.
Born Jan. 19, 1945, in Scioto County, a son of the late Donald A. and Gertrude Bradbury McKenzie, he was a 1963 graduate of Minford High School, attended Morehead State University and Ohio University.
Jim was a lifelong farmer and formerly employed by the N&W Railroad, SOCF and London Correctional Facility. He was past director of Scioto County Fair Board, past president of Soil & Water Conservation Board, former member of Scioto County Milk Producers Co-op and former member of the National Milk Producers Association.
He is survived by his former wife and dear friend of more than 40 years, Barbara McKenzie; two daughters, Jamie (Dominic) Mastey of Bonduel, Wis., Julie (Scott) Conrad of Stout, Ohio; one son, JD (Crystal) McKenzie of McDermott; seven grandchildren, Nickolas, Jakob, Elijah and Ashlie Mastey, Drake and Zane Conrad, and Piper McKenzie; two sisters, Gwen (Jack) Lester of Minford and Jane (George) Ridgeway of Heath; one niece, three nephews, and many other family and dear friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Father Dwayne McNew officiating.
Burial will be at the James D. McKenzie Farm Cemetery near Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
