Jared Lee Dever, 26, beloved son of Anita (Doug) Mc Ginnis and Terry (Barbara) Dever, of Minford , Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2005.
Jared was an avid sports fan and loved the game of baseball. He excelled in his baseball career while attending Malone College in Canton, Ohio.
Jared was a 1997 graduate of Minford High School and attended Malone College and Shawnee State University. He was employed by United Parcel Service in Portsmouth, Ohio.
In addition to his parents he is survived by one sister, Megan Dever, at home; two stepsisters, Jessica McGinnis of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Audrey Miller of Minford; four stepbrothers Jason and Joshua McGinnis of Minford and Justin and Catlin Miller of Minford; his grandparents Curtis and Betty Conkel of Lucasville and Paul and Norma Jean Dever of Portsmouth; stepgrandparents, Paul and Charlene McGinnis of Sciotoville and Bill and Margret Reed of Portsmouth; uncles and aunts Mark and Frances Conkel of Lucasville, Cathy Scott of Minford, Sandy and Ronald Gampp of Portsmouth, Tim and Christy Dever of Portsmouth and Rebecca and Avery Adams of Piketon; cousins Curt and Carly Scott, Ryan (Roxanne), Craig and Amanda Conkel, Jeff (Kelly) and Kyla Gampp, Tyler and Chelsea Adams and Isaac Dever; and his beloved girlfriend, Kayla McCoy of Lucasville.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and a cousin Christopher Gampp.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at Minford High School Gymnasium in Minford with Evangelist Brian Baer officiating. Burial will be in Martin Cemetery in Minford, Ohio. Friends may call at Minford High School from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday.
Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford.
