He was born in Minford, Ohio, Oct. 6, 1943, to the late Donel Blackburn and mother, Margaret Smith Blackburn of Minford.

Jerry was a graduate of Minford High School, class of 1961. He was a retiree of Goodyear-Meridian and member of the Steelworkers Union. He was an avid fisherman who loved his family, and will be missed by many.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Emma Lou Duncan Blackburn of Jackson; son, Gary (Robin) Blackburn of Minford; brother, Doug (Jean) Blackburn of Mansfield; four stepchildren, Carol McGinnis, Larry K. (Donna) Campbell, Robert (Tammy) Campbell and Anthony Drake of Chillicothe; two grandchildren, Jeremiah and Tyler; three stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and five step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Lisa and Shawna Blackburn; and one nephew.

Friends and family may call at Eisnaugle-Lewis Funeral Home, Friday, May 2, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will take place at the funeral home Saturday, May 3, 2008, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Perry Bradford officiating, and burial to follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
