JERRY 'PAT" BENNETT
November 26, 1939 - June 30, 2018
MINFORD —Jerry "Pat" Bennett, 78, of Minford passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 at his residence. Born November 26, 1939 in Scioto County, a son of the late Ormund S. and Ann Mae Rickey Bennett, he was a 1957 graduate of Minford High School and of Rio Grande University, was a superintendent of the Open Hearth at Cyclops in Portsmouth and retired as superintendent of transportation at Armco in Mansfield. Pat was an avid sports fan, was the voice of the Falcons, a basketball official, baseball umpire, and attended Minford Community Church. He was a member of Western Sun Lodge No. 91 and a 32° Mason with the Valley of Canton.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Stone Bennett; two sons, Barry (Melissa) Bennett of Washington DC, Brent (Deb) Bennett of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren, Alicia, Peyton, Sarah, Ella, Emily and Andrew Patrick; one great grandson, Jonah, and sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Beth Anne and Brenda Anne Bennett; eight brothers, Donald, Bernard, Wendall, John (in infancy), Harold, Fred, Larry, Joe Bennett, and three sisters, Dorothy White, Northa Bennett, and Aileen Callihan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Ed Cox officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
