John Kline, 64, of Minford,
passed away Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.
Born July 28, 1946, in Scioto County, a son of the late Levi and Victoria Marie (Perkins) Kline, he was a retired guard with 26 years of service from SOCF in Lucasville.
He was a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1964 and was an Army veteran during the Vietnam era.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (McWhorter) Kline, whom he married on Dec. 18, 1972; one son and daughter-in-law, John M. and Jennifer Kline of Minford; one daughter, Misty J. Kline of Dublin; four beautiful grandchildren, Hayley Kline, Madison Kline, Hannah Kline, and Mason Kline; and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Kenneth Pitts of Jackson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Levi Kline Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor Tim Palla officiating.
Burial will be in Butler Cemetery near Minford.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, and one hour before the service on Monday.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William Baker Post No. 363 American Legion.
