JOHN R. GAMPP
May 4, 1939 - February 3, 2018 

MINFORD —John Roger Gampp, 78, of Minford passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at SOMC Hospice. Born May 4, 1939 in Minford, son of the late Albert Orville and Alice I. Schuler Gampp, he was a 1957 graduate of Minford High School, was a retired farmer and was Scioto County Farmer of the year in 2000. John was the former owner and operator of a gas station in Sciotoville, a former employee of Empire Detroit Steel, former owner and operator of Minford Grain Bins. He was the former owner and operator of Mule Town Mini Mart and former owner and operator of Bennett's Collision, and was a member of Sunshine Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delores (Preston) Gampp; one son, Mark (Brandy) Gampp of Minford; one daughter, Teresa (Jeff) Hayward of Minford; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Daniel) Parker, Melissa (Kyle) Rase, Melinda (Cody) Cannon, Sagan, Caitlyn, Samantha and Andrea Gampp; five great grandchildren, Lainey and Jase Parker, Hayes and Hattie Rase, Crew Cannon, and three brothers, Wayne (Irmalee) Gampp of Minford; Steven (Deborah) Gampp of Littleton, Colorado, and Rick (Theresa) Gampp of Pickerington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother in infancy, Keith Gampp.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Sunshine Church of Christ in Minford with Minister Jon Partlow officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the Sunshine Church of Christ (beside the airport) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford.
