Kenneth Sturgill Cottle
January 29, 1927 - October 22, 2005

Kenneth Sturgill Cottle, 78, of Sebring, Florida, a former Scioto County resident, died Saturday, October 22, 2005 in Avon Park, Florida.

Born January 29, 1927 in Scioto County, a son of the late Cecil and Wilma Sturgill Cottle, he was a retired Ohio State Highway Patrolman out of the Cambridge Post and a World War II Navy veteran. 

He was a 1945 graduate of Minford High School where he served as class president and attended Ohio University.

He was a member of the VFW and the Elks and a former employee for Nicolozakes Trucking & Construction Inc. in Cambridge, Ohio.  He moved to Florida in late 1984, and he enjoyed golfing, baseball and traveling.

He is survived by Margaret Mercure of Sebring, Florida; one brother, Ray Cottle of Oxford Alabama; three daughters:  Dawn Cottle of Cambridge, Ohio; Robin Cottle of Cambridge, Ohio and Leann Cottle Kimbler and husband, Ron, of Columbus, Ohio; two sons: Wayne Cottle and wife, Robin of Cambridge and Craig Cottle of Sebring, Florida; Margaret's children:  Rick and wife, Leslie Mercure, Larry Mercure and wife, Debbie and Jim Mercure; nine grandchildren, Aletha, Staci, Miranda, Dylan, Tiffany, Rayn, Nina, Daniel, and Nick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Rhodes Cottle, his twin sister, Kathryn Cottle; and Margaret's daughter Pam Watson.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Old Wheelersburg Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by the James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion.
