Walter Lewis Kincaid, 78, of 1917 Argonne Road, died at 7 p.m. Monday at his residence following an extended illness.  He had been in failing health the last 10 years and had been seriously ill a month.

A son of Lanty G. and Margaret Haggaett Kincaid, he was born September 1, 1879 at Blue Steel, West Virginia.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Sue Kincaid; a son, Lanty D., 2003 Argonne Road, and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Erwin and Miss Minnie Kincaid both of Ronceverte, West Virginia.

Preceeding him in death were his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Mr. Kincaid operated a grocery store in Minford for 15 years prior to moving to Portsmouth 18 months ago.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lynn Funeral Home with Rev. Bernard Knox officiating.  The body will be moved to Wallace Funeral Home at Alderson, West Virginia where a second funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday.  Burial will be made in Rosewood Cemetery at Lewisburg, West Virginia.  Friends may call here at Lynn Funeral Home.
