Larry Bennett 69, of Minford, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, 4:50 a.m. at Southern Ohio Medical Center-Scioto.
Born September 12, 1930 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Ormund S. and Anna Mae (Rickey) Bennett.
He had lived in the Minford area since 1990. He was a retired employee for Timken Company and Rockwell International retiring in 1987 with 34 years of service between the companies.
He was a member of Harrison Free Will Baptist Church, graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1948, member of International Order of Foresters, and was an Air Force Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Looney) Bennett, whom he married on January 16, 1954 in Portsmouth; one son, Joseph L. Bennett of Stoutsville; three grandchildren, Chelsie Ann Bennett, Derek Bennett, Nathan Bennett; four brothers, Harold Bennett of Reynoldsburg, Fred Bennett of Portsmouth, Joe Bennett of Minford, Pat Bennett of Minford; two sisters, Aileen Callihan of Portsmouth and Northa Bennett of Minford, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, a daughter, Teresa Ann Bennett, four brothers, Donald Bennett, Bernard Bennett, Wendall Bennett and John Bennett and one sister Dorothy White preceded in his death.
A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, May 2, 2000, 11 a.m. at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Gary Dheel officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home just prior to the service on Tuesday. The family requests that flowers not be sent.
