MARGUERITE E. TWINAM PRIGGS
March 30, 1928 - January 21, 2018
PORTSMOUTH —Marguerite Elizabeth Spriggs, 89, of Portsmouth passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at SOMC. Born March 30, 1928 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Earl E. and Garnet Jane Kiser Twinam, she was a 1946 graduate of Minford High School, was a hairdresser, substitute teacher at Vo-Tec for 10 years, a former employee of Martings Department Store and Williams Shoe Factory for several years. She was a member of James Irwin American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Bernie (Janet) Twinan, Larry (Janet) Twinam; three sisters, LaFern (David) Underwood, Charlotte Lanthorn, Sandra (Kenneth) Barnett, and several nieces and nephews, with special attention to Steve Twinam and Jim Pugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh E. Spriggs on January 8, 2010 whom she married on September 20, 1947, and three brothers, William Twinam, Ronald Twinam and Donald E. Twinam.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Father Nicholas Droll officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
