Mary Ann Jenkins Brackey
December 25, 1938 - January 1, 2017
Mary Ann Brackey, age 78 of Pacific Palisades, CA, formerly of Sciotoville, went to be with the Lord January 1, 2017 at Fireside Convalescent Hospital in Santa Monica, CA.
She was born December 25, 1938 in Sciotoville to Dale and Lucille (Whitley) Jenkins.
She graduated from Minford High School in 1956 and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from Bob Jones University in 1960 and then a Master's Degree in Textiles and Home Economics from Ohio State in 1967.
Mary Ann worked as an interior decorator, loved gardening, traveling, and reading the Bible. She studied ballet, was a championship level ballroom dancer who performed at many benefits, and was a docent at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family especially her grandsons, Archer and Griffin.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Thomas Brackey; one son, Thomas Brackey, II (Catherine) of Los Angeles, CA; three sisters, Linda Lou (Larry) Hawkins of Cincinnati, Nancy Dale (Larry) Bower of Portsmouth, Sarah Maxine (Anthony) DiPrima of Fairport, NY; two grandsons, Archer and Griffin Brackey. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville with Pastor Steve Mann officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home
