The Minford Dairy Bar

Floyd Pfleger built the dairy bar building in 1950.  In 1955, the Pfleger's leased the building to Ned Horton who opened the Dairy Bar and ran the business for about a year. 

In 1956, Woodrow "Woody" Johnson and his wife, Lillian, took over the lease and ran the Dairy Bar.  Ice cream cones were 5, 15, and 25 cents.

Woody and Lillian continued to operate the business until 1980.  Woody and his son-in-law, Charlie Truglio, were working on the ice cream machine.  The agitator inside the machine had broken, and Charlie left the Dairy Bar to get supplies to fix it.  While Charlie was gone, the employees arrived to open the Dair Bar for the day.  When they entered the building, they found that Woody had died inside the business.  They called the Minford Squad, but it was too late to save Woody.

Woody's daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Charlie Truglio, took over the business until Charlie died in 1994.  Diane continued to run the business by herself for a couple of years.  Diane remarried, and her new husband, Ron Harris, helped her with the business until he passed away in 2013.

Diane, once again, took on the full responsibility of running the business.  She ran the business six days a week, made the hot dog sauce, and handled the books and payroll.  In 2015 Diane decided it was time to retire, and she put the Dairy Bar up for sale.  Mary Jo Pfleger still held the lease on the building.

In 2015 Ryan and Jacinda Rader saw a "for sale" sign in the window, and they jumped at the chance to take over the Dairy Bar.  The Raders leased and ran the business until June 27, 2018 when Mary Jo Pfleger decided it was time to sell the buliding to the Raders.

The Raders give a lot of credit to Butch Buckle who they say has taught them about the equipment and maintained the property.
