Ray Henson, 77
Ray Bob Henson, 77, of Minford, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.
Born Oct. 30, 1934, in Minford, a son of the late Gilbert Russell Henson and Jane Geneva (Holmes) Henson, he was a retired employee for Textile Leather Corporation in Toledo, Ohio, from 1963 to 1992.
He was a graduate of Minford High School in the class of 1952, an Army veteran and a member of James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Henson, Jr. and a sister, Martha Cantrell.
He is survived by two nephews, Michael Cantrell of Baltimore, Md., John Cantrell of Pennsylvania; a niece, Theresa Mearkle of Baltimore, Md., and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Don Noel officiating. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, and one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the James Irwin Post No. 622 and William Baker Post No. 363 American Legions.
