Richard L. Moore, 81, of South Webster, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 3, 1932, in Minford; a son of the late Emanuel and Edna Schomburg Moore.
 
He was an employee of the former Empire Detroit Steel Corp., a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea, was a 1951 graduate of Minford High School, loved the Buckeyes and dancing with his wife Helen whom he married on Jan. 14, 1956, in South Webster.
 
He is also survived by four sons, Larry (Sherry) Moore of Lucasville, James Moore of South Webster, Randy (Amy) Moore of Jackson and Rick (LouAnn) Moore of Wheelersburg; one daughter, Patti (John) Basham of Jackson; five sisters, June Green of Arcanum, Ohio., Ruth Neff of LaRue, Ohio., Edna Lambert of Beaver, Janet Rawlins of Wheelersburg and Peggy Green of Grove City; five brothers, Emanuel Moore Jr. of Minford, Gerald Moore of Jacksontown, Ohio., Paul Moore of Oak Hill, Harry Moore of Dayton and Jerry Moore of Huntsville, Ala..; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
 
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Moore, and a brother Jack Moore. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN SOUTH WEBSTER with Pastor Merit Smith officiating.
 
Interment will follow at South Webster cemetery with graveside military honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion.
 
Visitation will be Sunday 5 to 8 p.m., and Monday 2 to 3 p.m. at D.W. SWICK in South Webster.
